Breaking: Minnesota RB Darius Taylor to Miss Season Opener

Vikings Suffer Setback Ahead of ACC Matchup

Taylor Ruled Out with Hamstring Injury

ARLINGTON, TX - The Minnesota Vikings have been dealt a significant blow ahead of their season-opening matchup against the North Carolina Tar Heels, as running back Darius Taylor has been ruled out with a hamstring injury, head coach P.J. Fleck confirmed Tuesday.

Taylor, who was expected to play a key role in the Vikings' offense this season, suffered the injury during a training camp practice.

The Vikings will now be without both of their top running backs from last season, as Dalvin Cook is also sidelined with a knee injury. Mike Boone and Alexander Mattison are expected to fill the void in Taylor's absence.

The news of Taylor's injury is a major setback for the Vikings, who are looking to bounce back from a disappointing 7-9 season.

The Vikings will open the season against the North Carolina Tar Heels on September 1 at TCF Bank Stadium.
